Why I Made This Website
STRATEGY SUMMARY ↴
This website started as a music blog ten+ years ago. Now it's back ... part AI, part marketing, part music, all built on the belief that human curation still matters.

I originally started it around 10 years ago as a music blog. It was a place to discover music, share things I thought deserved more attention, and hopefully introduce people to something they wouldn't have found otherwise.
Then life happened. The internet changed. Music changed. Marketing changed. And then AI showed up and started changing pretty much everything.
Over the last few years, I've become completely fascinated by AI. Not just ChatGPT or generating an image here and there, but what you can actually build with this stuff. Websites, apps, games, automations, marketing campaigns and ideas that would've required a developer, designer, agency and a decent-sized budget a few years ago can now sometimes be built by one person sitting at a laptop in a day or two.
At the same time, there's another side to all of this. The internet is starting to feel very automated. Algorithms decide what music we hear, what videos we watch, what shows up in our feeds and increasingly even what information we consume. It's incredibly convenient, but I also think we're starting to lose some of the randomness that made the internet interesting in the first place.
Especially with music.
I love Spotify. I use it constantly. But I also miss discovering a song because some random person on a blog was obsessed with it. Not because an algorithm calculated that I had a good chance of liking it, but because a human heard something and thought, you need to hear this.
That's a big reason I wanted to bring this website back.
On paper, those things might sound like completely different categories. To me, they're really not. If you're building something, you're probably thinking about marketing. If you're working in marketing right now, you're probably thinking about AI. And if you're sitting at your computer building something at 1:00am in the morning, there's a pretty good chance you're listening to music while doing it.
I wanted to build a place where I could talk about the tools I'm actually using, experiments I'm trying, things I'm building on the weekend, marketing ideas I'm seeing work and where I think all of this is heading. But I also wanted somewhere you could discover an artist you've never heard before.
Human Curation Still Matters
I'm obviously a huge believer in AI, but I don't think the answer to AI is handing over every decision we make to it. I actually think the opposite might happen. As AI-generated content becomes basically unlimited, human taste becomes more valuable.
Someone still has to decide what's good. Someone still has to find the weird song with 8,000 streams. Someone still has to test the new AI tool and tell you whether it's actually useful or not.
AI can help us search, build, create and move faster. It doesn't have to decide everything we see.
I think we're living through one of those rare moments where the barrier between having an idea and actually making it real has dropped dramatically. You don't necessarily need to know how to code anymore to start experimenting with an app. You don't need a massive marketing budget to launch something. You don't need a record label to release music. You can just get'r done.
I'm experimenting constantly, breaking things, rebuilding them and figuring out what actually works. So I don't want this site to pretend to be some all knowing genius. I'd rather it become a place where people can learn, discover and build.
If there's an AI tool worth knowing about, I want to talk about it. If there's an artist making something incredible, I want to share it. If there's something happening in marketing or on the internet that I think is worth discussing, I want to write about it. And if you're sitting on an idea and you're not sure how to build it, reach out. Maybe I can help.
Maybe Blogs Aren't Dead After All
I think there's room for something different again. Places with an actual point of view. Places where you intentionally go because you trust the people curating what's there.
That's what I want to experiment with here. Welcome to my website.
